Consciousness Work

Holistic & Somatic Counselling

Utilizing approaches of Human-Centered Therapy, Gestalt techniques, and with reference to a Jungian approach to dreams and inner mythologies,  the idea is to maximize the client's own powerful innate healing potential.  Encouraging the strengthening of imagination and inner guidance can be greatly supportive in creating lasting change.

Working with the client's inner guidance, encouraging relaxation and feeling centered, begins an inner journey. Working within the realms of the archetypal and mythical often allows deep symbolic guidance to emerge.

A somatic approach can also support awareness of what the body is expressing, helpful for pain and chronic conditions. With awareness comes natural transformation, as the mind and subconscious is very willing to offer remedy when asked.

Art Therapy

Art therapy integrates psycho-therapeutic techniques with the creative process to improve mental health and well-being. The American Art Therapy Association describes art therapy as "a mental health profession that uses the creative process of art making to improve and enhance the physical, mental and emotional well-being of individuals of all ages.

It is based on the belief that the creative process involved in artistic self-expression helps people to resolve conflicts and problems, develop interpersonal skills, manage behavior, reduce stress, increase self-esteem and self-awareness, and achieve insight."

Energy Healing and Reiki

Energy Healing and Reiki are hands-on healing modality which ignites the body's self-healing protocols.

Energy Healing comprises a range of therapeutic healing touch affecting both the soma and the aura of the body. A session invites a natural healing process to begin, supporting both physical and emotional well-being.

A Reiki Master is attuned to the healing Usui Reiki energy, which originated from a Japanese mystic in the late 1800's, when he was meditating on Mt. Kurama. He felt that Reiki was a universal healing energy that was available to all.

This healing modality is passed on through attunements from the lineage of  Master/Teacher Usui-Sensei.

The practitioner brings over a decade of learning and practice in the field of energy healing, supported by various modalities which are shared as required in each session, utilizing Reiki along with other kinds of Energy Healing derived from Diane Stein, Barbara Brennan, Anodea Judith and other pioneers in this industry.

All Reiki/Energy Healing sessions typically involve inner somatic focusing techniques and have the option to include guided visualization and imaginal embodiment.

Healing Body Work

Aromatherapy Massage

Therapeutic relaxation massage to rejuvenate and renew the senses. Personal blending with a holistic approach. While holding a sacred space for rest and renewal, healing bodywork sessions are based on creating blissful experiences to relax and unwind.

At the start of the session a consultation for creating a personal massage oil blend of ethically and naturally sourced (often organic!) essential oils in a base of unscented fractionated coconut oil.

All bodywork sessions include a short energy clearing to support relaxation and calming of  the mind. As well, beautiful, calming music accompanies the session for maximum relaxation.

Craniosacral Therapy

This healing modality which facilitaties the body to create change gently and naturally, as well as enabling a self-healing protocol to be intiated.

Primary Respiration (or the Long Tide) is the centre of Craniosacral Therapy, and this hands-on modality supports the body to come into alignment with this flow, as discovered by Dr. William Sutherland over a century ago.

The biodynamic model of Craniosacral Therapy is helpful for many health concerns, and also lends a feeling of lightness and expansion.

Touch in this treatment is extremely light (like holding a little bird in one's hand), the effect is spinal alignment, and micro-movements in the plates of the skull and the fine bodes of the sacrum.

Although gentle, the experience can be quite profound. People report that they feel extremely light and rejuvenated for hours and even days after a session.

Craniosacral Therapy continues connecting you with the "Long Tide" for 2-3 days after a treament.

Somatic Energy Massage

The body is in a natural state of response to energetic flow of life force energy. There is a great deal of research on this from Eastern healing methods, both Vedic (India) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) have long traditions of working with this vital life flow – Prana and Chi respectively.

Essentially when an area of the body is blocked or stagnant, there can be discomfort, misalignment or pain.

This therapeutic session supports the alignment of the body by discharging stagnant energy and returning the body to a state of natural flow.

There is a massage element to the session, including a personalized essential oil blend. This is done in order to activate the area(s) needing support, followed by directional energy flow portion of the session.

Utilizing hands-on energy healing, guided visualization and breathwork, the client may experience warmth, tingling and/or renewal of the areas of discomfort.
Just a note about Essential Oils

Always research when using essential oils. They are very potent and can be harmful if used incorrectly.
Essential oils are best used topically (on the skin).

Always use a carrier oil (such as Almond, Coconut, Olive oil) and typically a mixture will only consist of 3-6 drops of pure essential oil to minimum  3 tablespoons of carrier oil.

Be sure to use carrier oils anytime you are applying the oils to the skin, including during a bath. Some oils can actually burn the skin if used without an oil-based carrier.
